Club Eagles, in general, is having the best season after promoting to the first division. We have played 15 matches with 7 wins, 7 draws and losing just once. We are currently holding to the second place and fighting bitter rivals Maziya Sports and Recreation Club for the first division title. Overall we conceded just six goals so far this season with our attackers finding the opponents nets 19 times.

Last three seasons Club Eagles was fighting and defending the third place in the league. Our team proved to be a tough nut to crack for the opponents. After stating our place in the top four, our management, team and coaching staff aimed to fight for a trophy this season. At the end of last season we lost two players to our neighbors and the critics and the neutrals believed we are finished this season.

Club Eagles, since it’s being founded, believes in youth players and the whole team to win a match or trophy. Our coaching staff and management does not rely on a single player for the team to succeed. Neither does our team. We, the club, believe that every player has the potential to help the team succeed. After taking the coaching reins, Ihusan Abdul Ghani, built a team from a team that fought to survive in the first division to a team feared by the opponents.

During the last four years our supporters are growing in numbers which shows that we have accomplished an achievement which everyone believes. It was past when three teams dominated the first division. Now the league and cups are more open than ever. Club Eagles are getting stronger with the a fan base growing in hundreds.

The upcoming five matches in the ongoing Dhivehi Premier League 2016 are vital to our claim for the maiden Dhivehi Premier League in our trophy cabinet. We are behind the league leaders by six points and we believe that this battle will be till the last match of the league. Playing six games in a short period drained the energy out of our players and as the coach said impacted our game plan. Now after two weeks of no league games the team will be fit to continue the quest. Our team has the youth and the experienced mixture which makes us the potential team fighting for to be the champions.

We urge our supporters to attend the next few games of the season and cheer for the team as you guys have been doing so far. 12th player is a valuable asset in the match. Your cheering gives the players the much needed boost to get the maximum points from each game. Five games and we have to fight to win each game. It’s win or no title!
